Sooooo. I did another thing y’all 😂 within 3 days. Well, I unexpectedly and unplanningly (is that a word, chileeeee) traveled to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico, by myself. Yes. I said I traveled to another country, by myself. (June Lane, my grandda, would have cancelled this out so fast yall.)
Sike y’all, God and His Holy Spirit is alongside me here in Mexico!!!! This is where the title comes in. Joshua 1:9. So let me give you a little brief opening of how I ended up in Mexico by myself. Oh and please don’t text me projecting your fears and worries on me. COVERED!
Originally it was a close friend birthday trip. She always show up for others and I wanted to show up for her a in a different way. Book your flight girl, I got the resort! Shoutout to timeshare 😂 Let’s celebrate you! I was excited to spend some time with her for her birthday outside of NC.
The day before departure my friend had notified me that she wouldn’t be able to make it 🥹 but baby…I STILL HAD TO GO! I done spent MONEY and needed this vacation for myself too, selfishly 😕. Well, I had on The shoes that I last wore in the accident with Kymani (miss you so much friend…continue to SIP) She was reminding me “friend you know ima be right there with you…on a budget…it’s in the budget”
Well the day of departure, I prayed and prayed and PRAYED. I was more excited than nervous honestly. But i needed to get to the airport by 10 to maintain control of that anxiety. Know your triggers and control them. Got to the Bag drop in and a beautiful girl working knew of me. Her name was Kalia. She said to me, Is your name Victoria? Me hesitantly saying yesss but God like (girl i told you, you will be known) and she proceeds to say “I be watching you. I am so proud of you. You are so strong. Keep doing what you’re doing.” Little did Kalia know, I was headed to Mexico by myself and needed to hear her words that morning! STRONG? Girl I’m lowkey NERVOUS right now but ima claim STRONG over my nervousness. Thank you so much Kalia was calling me over! You were placed in your position right on time and know that your current does not go in vain! (I have to find her to tag her in this)
Honestly, mentally, I needed this getaway. I needed this spiritual retreat and awakening. I’m so excited for what God is about to do through me! Another school year coming up and Chile, middle school is real…so your girl need to refresh and PREPARE honey!
I got biscoff cookies on the plane! Deanna was with me too! That girl love them cookies 😂😂😂
I saw a ninja turtle sign on my way to the resort! OKAY KYMERE.
I am here safe at my beautiful resort, relaxing, living my wish i was rich auntie phase (come on baby SJ) , Giving y’all some wisdom because #VicNikolSpeaks HONEY! Gas yourself up, even when nobody else will!
Now here are some key points that I want you to take from my self-trip, spiritual retreat, celebrate self growth journey to Mexico!
Don’t allow fear to ever hold you back. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
Don’t allow other people circumstances for dictate or determine your footsteps.
Walking with God is far greater than walking alone.
Sometimes you have to do things for YOU.
Sometimes you have to keep things to yourself until you are confident in your footsteps and someone else’s worries and doubts won’t affect your actions.
If you can’t be confident, be God-fident until you can be both!
Self trips are for spiritual awakenings! I truly believe this now. Y’all I don’t know how I had the courage to get up and fly to Mexico by myself. Not a local city but ANOTHER COUNTRY. Gods plan not mine cause honey I would have cancelled if I had time (just being fully transparent here) 😂😂 That’s how I know God is real in my life. This is strength through him, in him, with him. Courage through him, in him, and with him. Sarah Jakes Roberts said “surrendering your plan so it can be expanded does not mean your original plan was bound to fail.”
SJR also said “every now and then there comes a moment when you are placed in a position that lays such a high demand on you that it makes you begin to wonder if God is trying to tell you something about yourself that you don’t quite know.”
SJR ALSO SAID “divine confluences. We don’t walk away from what God tells us to do and find peace anywhere else.”
It’s okay to be proud of you. I understand if it gets questionable but HONEYYYY….BE PROUD.
Two words….Just Go.
Anywhere you think you are going alone, you’re not boo. Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous—do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. WHEREVER YALL. In the valley, in the pit, the dark, on the Mountain, in a new business, new marriage, new motherhood, in NC or in MEXICO. Wherever you go, he’s with you and he’s going to meet you there, too. He will meet you in every season!
I may be crazy but this trip I was like “I’m going to spend time with God in another country. Let me experience his love with a little taco and pico” a lot of people in the Bible had encounters with God in different cities, countries, etc. outside of their local norm. They just had the courage and obedience to go. If God show up in my cabana….YALLLLLLL.😂
Don’t allow people control over your life. Kids this one is not for you. You still in your parents house baby. 😂 The only person who has never failed with me being in control of my life is God. I even failed with trying to control my own life.
Trust in the process.
Confidence over comfort
Bet on yourself.
Allow a seed to planted and allow a seed to be uprooted. You have the power in what you allow to grow in your life. One thing I will say, sprinkle that seed with Gods water and uproot that hurt with Gods fertilizer.
See the serpent planted a question to Eve that made her take action and question her entire identity. Don’t allow what the enemy planted to determine your identity for you. We have the ability to rise above hurt, fear insecurities, worries and anxieties.
Everything is spiritual but I understand everyone doesn’t acknowledge that. Please know that my therapy and counseling services are not faith based, but if you want spirituality incorporated, I 100% support it and will honor it. But also know if you don’t, I 100% will respect and honor that too. Just know that I may not be able to fix your problems but at least you won’t be standing in your problem alone.
